Origin
For creative founders
who are tired of doing it alone
Hello!
I've been sitting on this idea for years. Origin was never meant to just be a name, it was meant to be a place. Somewhere creative founders could stop pretending they've got it all figured out, and actually be met by people who understand what this work takes.
Life got in the way for a long time. It's not in the way anymore.
Origin launches this September.
What I've noticed
Running your own creative business is a strange kind of lonely. You're surrounded by clients, followers, maybe even other business owners in passing, and still nobody really knows what your Sunday nights look like. The second-guessing. The wondering if you're the only one who feels like you're winging it. The bit where you solve a problem at 11pm with nobody to check it against.
I've been doing this since 2012. I still have those nights.
What I've learned is that the founders who last aren't the ones who worked it all out alone. They're the ones who found their people, quietly, usually later than they'd have liked. I want Origin to be the thing that gets you there sooner.
Where the name comes from
I read Wilding by Isabella Tree a while back, about the rewilding of a farm in Sussex. There's a bit about oak trees, how they're never really standing alone. Underground, their root systems are connected to a whole web of other trees, sharing water, sending warning signals, keeping each other alive through seasons no single tree could survive on its own.
That's what Origin is meant to be. Not a course. Not a content calendar. A root system. A place where creative founders are actually held up by each other, not just cheering each other on from a distance.
What to expect
I'm still building the finer details, but here's the shape of it so far:
A genuine community, not a Facebook group that dies after week two. Built around real conversation, not just posting into the void.
People who get it. Other creative founders navigating the same stuff: pricing, burnout, inconsistency, the loneliness of being the only decision-maker in the room.
Honest exchange over polished advice. I'd rather you leave a conversation with something true than something impressive.
Structure that respects how founders actually work. No pressure to perform, no guilt for going quiet during a hard month.
More will come as September gets closer, but that's the heart of it.
Is this for you?
Probably, if any of this sounds familiar:
You run something creative, on your own or close to it. You've had a good week and had nobody to tell. You've had a terrible week and had nobody to tell either. You're tired of Instagram being the only place you talk about your business. You want honesty more than hustle.
If that's you, I'd love for you to be there from the start.
